On Sunday, September 7th, 2008, Belinda Stronach, Co-founder, Spread the Net, Chair, Malaria No More Canada, Executive Vice-Chairman, Magna International Inc. and Member of Parliament, and Peter Chernin, Chair, Malaria No More, President and COO, News Corporation and Chairman and CEO, Fox Group, co-hosted the first ever Golf Rocks fundraising and awareness building event.
Golf Rocks was held at the Magna Golf Club and took place during the Toronto International Film Festival. The event featured great golf, celebrity guests including Alicia Keyes, Queen Latifa, Jennifer Hudson and Sophia Bush, and live musical performances by David Foster, Bill Maher, Debbie Harry and Chris Stein of Blondie, Ian Thornley, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Mobile, Ringside, the Canadian Tenors and Raven O of the Box in New York City.
